Tsingtao Brewery Imp. & Exp. Co., Ltd. is the subsidiary of Tsingtao Brewery Co., Ltd. and all the export business of Tsingtao beer is handled by this company.
Tsingtao Brewery was founded in August 1903 in Qingdao as the Germania-Brauerei Tsingtao Co., Ltd. by German and British merchants. As one of the earliest breweries in China, Tsingtao Brewery is now among the world’s top 500 brands. Valued more than 163.772 billion yuan, the brand has been leading China’s beer industry for 16 consecutive years.
On 15 July, 1993, Tsingtao Brewery was listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 0168), becoming the first-ever Chinese mainland company listed overseas. A few weeks later, on 27 August, Tsingtao Brewery was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 600600) and became the first Chinese company to be listed in both Hong Kong and Shanghai.
By the end of 2019, Tsingtao Brewery owned more than 60 breweries in 20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions in China, leading the domestic beer industry in terms of both company scale and market share.
In 2019 Tsingtao Brewery achieved a total sales volume of 8.05 million kilo litres with an income of 27.98 billion yuan, up 5.3% year-on-year. A net profit of 1.85 billion yuan for shareholders was recorded with an increase of 30.2% year-on-year. The net profit growth speed reached a new high of the past decade. And a healthy growth pattern of “profit growth > income growth > sales growth” was shaped.
Tsingtao Brewery is now the fifth largest beer producer in the world with products exporting to more than 100 countries and regions including USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Australia, ROK, Japan, Denmark and Russia.
Tsingtao Brewery has won almost all gold awards in beer quality contests in China since 1949, as well as many gold awards on the international stage. In 2013, Tsingtao Brewery was awarded the Most Competitive Chinese Enterprise, the Model Company of Creditability in China, and the Company with the Best Sustainability. In 2014, Tsingtao Brewery won the Gold Award of the Chinese Academy of Management Science Awards, as well as titles of the Most Influential Chinese Brand Worldwide. In 2015, Tsingtao Brewery was recognized as the Excellent Company of the Year 2015 and the Asian MAKE (the Most Admired Knowledge Enterprises in Asia). In 2016, Tsingtao Brewery ranked among the World’s 100 Most Reputable Companies and the BrandZ Top 100 Most Valuable Chinese Brands. In 2017, Tsingtao Brewery was honored one of the Most Competitive Companies and the 2017 Top 100 Food Companies in the world. In 2018, Tsingtao Brewery won global awards including the gold medal in the World Beer Championships and a big prize in the European Beer Star competition. Tsingtao Brewery also is an official sponsor to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games, becoming the only Chinese brand to sponsor the Olympic Games again since the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. In 2019 Tsingtao Brewery won the gold medal in the World Beer Championships again, and the innovative product Tsingtao Prince Seaweed Soda Water was approved to use the HCS (Healthier Choice Symbol) logo by the HPB (Health Promotion Board of Singapore). The company was among the list of the“100 Model Brands of the 2019 China Brand Power Grand Ceremony”, and also honored one of China’s Most Admired Companies for the 14th time as well as one of China’s Most Respected Companies for the 16th consecutive year.
