Volume weight or so-called Bulk density appears when the cargo density is lower than the weight standard defined. The IATA international standard is 167 kg per cubic meter. Light and volume-sized cargoes are usually rated by volumetric weight.

The Turboavia company is one of very few operators on the market for delivering of special cargoes like batteries, liquids, powders, etc. According to the current air cargo safety standards, products like mentioned above require special and complex packaging. Because of it the packaging of the mentioned types of cargo can be more pricy than standard ones. Extra packaging may include crates, foam boxes, bags, and so on.
