Datong Haifa Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in May 2006. It is a joint-stock private enterprise mainly engaged in the cultivation, purchase, processing and sales of wood grass and marigold with a registered capital of 20 million yuan. The company is located in Fengyu Village, Fengyu Township, Yunzhou District, with an area of 18.30 mu. It has 400 square meters of production workshop, 10 tons of drying boilers, fermentation tanks and other corresponding supporting facilities. It is equipped with 38 sets of equipment (sets) such as feeder, feeding screw and press. The company mainly produces marigold flower granules, marigold lutein extract and other products. The company has been successively named as "Datong Agricultural Industry Leading Enterprise for Poverty Alleviation" and "datong county Agricultural Industrialization Leading Enterprise".
The main products are marigold particles, with an existing marigold planting base of 5000 mu, producing 400 tons of marigold particles annually and processing 6800 tons of marigold flowers.

The construction of the yellow mealworm breeding base will begin in October 2017, with a total investment of 8.65 million yuan. As the leader of the industry, the company will drive the development of yellow mealworm, cattle, sheep and donkey breeding industry in Yunzhou District and increase the income of farmers on the basis of ensuring the supply of breeding insects, special feed and training and full service of breeding technology. The processing of yellow mealworm compound feed can consume 100,000 mu of corn, day lily, marigold and other crop straws in Yunzhou district and its surrounding areas every year, which has obvious ecological, environmental protection and good economic benefits.
